Langtang is a narrow valley located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu and close to the borders of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7246m), the highest peak in the area, with peak such as Dorje Lakpa, Kimshun & Langsisha Ri all around. Though not the highest of the Himalayan Mountains, these towering, jagged, ice peaks are certainly some of the most impressive. Spectacular glaciers falling fro these mountains feed the Langtang Khola River, which winds its way through the high Langtang valley before emptying as a raging torrent into the Bhote Koshi River
